Sherley J. Bracy

Sherley J. Bracy, 60 of Weedsport passed away September 3,2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, after a battle with squamous cell carcinoma, with her family by her side.
  She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Samuel and Patricia (Hamilton) Hoffman and had been an area life resident. Sherley worked for several years in the early 2000's as a certified nurse's aide for Auburn Community Hospital. She was a very caring and kind hearted lady. Sherley loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed baking, reading or crocheting in her spare time.

  She is survived by her loving children, son Robert J. Thurston (Sarah), a daughter Rebecca Sayre (Robert), beloved grandchildren, Alexia Clark (Christopher), Nathan Lynch, Gabrielle Lynch, Brianna Sayre, Ryan Sayre, many siblings, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

  In addition to her birth  parents, Sherley was also predeceased her parents that raised her, George Ellers and Della (Jack) Jetty , her husband Robert Bracy and ex-husband Robert W. Thurston and two siblings.

  A graveside service will be held this Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 10:30 am in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Port Byron.
