Shikeen Andre Kennedy was born on March 20, 1977 to Clarence Frank Davis (preceded in death) and Shari Ann Kennedy, in Queens, New York.
Shikeen grew up in St. Albans, Queens. During this time he attended Everlasting Baptist Church with his family. Attending Sunday school every Sunday and Vacation Bible School during summer vacations was something he loved doing with his family.
In 1987, the family moved to Far Rockaway, Queens. Shikeen attended PS 105 and JHS 198. That year, his mother began visiting a new church. Along with his mother and siblings, Shikeen became a member of The New Greater Bethel Ministries. He was an active member of the church choir, Salt and Light youth ministries, he attended Sunday school and junior church faithfully. Shikeen enjoyed attending church events and often played church at home with his siblings. Him and his brother Drew took turns acting as the church “pastor” and the church “drummer” while Tina sat as a faithful member of their make believe church.
In 1991, Shikeen attended Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, NY. His passion was auto mechanics.
He often talked about becoming a mechanic. He enjoyed working on cars and driving. He was very handy and decided trade school would be a great start at a promising career.
In 1993, Shikeen enrolled in Job Corps, in Oneonta, NY. During his time at Job Corps, he gained many skills that prepared him for the challenging work force. Also, during his time at Job Corps he met and developed a relationship with Cherry Henry (preceded in death). Their relationship blossomed, leading them to have a precious daughter, Unique Star-Asia. In 1994, after the birth of Unique, Shikeen returned home to help raise his daughter. He held several customer service and retail jobs. His bubbly and friendly personality allowed him to be successful in all that he set forth to do.
As the older brother Shikeen wanted to make sure his younger brother Andrew was safe and always had
family close by, so in 2010 he decided to move up to Auburn, NY. He quickly adjusted to living in Auburn.
He worked at Tessy Plastics, Inc. for some time. In 2011, he would meet his loving fiancé Tashell Wingate. The two started out as friends, but would end up in love. As a result, they would raise 3 beautiful children together: Mario, Senii, and Ta’leia.
Shikeen’s last employer was Corrosion Control, INC. He enjoyed his position as a production crane operator from July 2016 to his untimely passing. He was a team player and worked closely with his colleagues daily. Shikeen was a dedicated employee who barely called out sick or took personal time off.
Shikeen, known to many as Shi or Shi Boogie had such a laid back personality. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends, taking family vacations, and driving long distance trips. He didn’t play about his music. He loved listening to old school Hip Hop and R&B. Shi enjoyed grilling for the family during the summer, playing his video games, watching his
favorite football team, Green Bay Packers, making surprise trips to Brooklyn to visit his daughter and his
grandsons, annual birthday kickbacks with his sister Michelle and best friend Wise, responding to
Ta’Leia’s several calls during the day, and attending his sons sporting events.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Shikeen peacefully transitioned to enter eternal rest, with his mother by
his side, holding her first born hand. Shikeen will forever be a hero to many, as he donated his organs to
help save lives of strangers. He will certainly be missed, but never forgotten. We are forever grateful for
the time and memories we’ve created with him.

Big Bro
It’s only been a short time since you’ve been gone, but I miss you already and the pain seems like
forever. You’ve been more than a big brother. You were my friend, my protector, my rider. I am thankful
for nearly fifty fun and memorable years we’ve shared as siblings. Although you’ve always called me
your “bougie sister” Thank you for keeping my secrets and never judging me. Summer vacations will
never be the same but as a family, we will push through the pain.
Rest easy bro, I love you.
Forever your “bougie sister”
