Shirley K. (Smith) Gould, 88 of Port Byron, NY passed away November 1, 2024 at Auburn Community Hospital.
She was born in Auburn, NY the daughter of the late Leo and Evelyn (Young) Smith and resided in several states throughout her life, including Oregon and Washington State. Shirley previously worked as a meat wrapper and more recently as a caregiver for Horizon. She was a very kind and creative woman, which showed through her talents as a skilled crocheter, quilter and embroidery specialist. Shirley also enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and canning fruits and vegetables. She cherished all the special memories that were made with her family and will forever be held close in the hearts of those that loved her.
She is survived by her loving children, Robert M. Flynn, Barbara McCashland, LaVerne A. Gould Jr., grandchildren, Sherry D. Harvey and fiancé Jeff Freeman, Michelle C. Flynn, Ryan and Jason McCashland, a great-grandson Adam Harvey, sister Marilyn Treat as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was also predeceased by her spouse LaVerne A. Gould Sr., a sister Betty Hamrick and three brothers, Leo, William and Richard Smith.
