We regret to announce the passing of our father, Thomas (Tom) Angelo Rossi, aged 80, who passed away peacefully on 11/21/24 at the Syracuse VA Medical Center after a brief illness.
Thomas, born in Grottaminarda, Italy was a life resident of the Auburn area. He attended Auburn schools and served on the USS Conway in the United States Navy. Until his retirement he was employed by New Process Gear in Syracuse, NY for over 20 years.
An avid sportsman, Thomas enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at the Rod & Gun club. He was also a regular at the local YMCA and loved gardening, cooking (best sauce and hot peppers ever!) and caring for his pets. He was also a cherished and loyal friend to many.
Thomas is survived by his three children, Thomas Rossi Jr (Luz Raquel), of Melbourne, FL, Pamela (Mark) Carter, of Auburn and Christopher Rossi, of Weedsport. A grandson, Angelo Carter, of Auburn, a sister, Mary Eddington of Phelps, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Thomas will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on through his family and friends.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held this Sunday, December 1st from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm in the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. A private service and burial will be held Monday at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to E. John Gavras Center, 182 North St, Auburn, NY, 13021 www.gavrascenter.com/donate
