Thomas Sawdey Obituary

Thomas R. Sawdey, 71 of Union Springs, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 18,2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
  He was born in Columbus,Ohio, the son of the late Gerald and Norma (Stroh) Sawdey,  resided most of his life in Batavia  and more recently relocated to the Union Springs area. He graduated from Batavia schools and received his bachelor’s degree from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam with a major in music education and a minor in math. While studying in college, he was a member of The Order of Prometheus. He spent many years in the managerial departments in restaurant and retail , mostly with Friendly’s, Hickory Farms and Yankee Candle. More recently, together with his wife, they owned and operated, The Produce Place in Union Springs, for the past 15 years. Tom was an avid Buffalo Bills football fan and also loved to garden and read many novels, especially from Stephen King and Dean Kuntz.
  He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Mary (Bisogno) Sawdey, two sisters, Marilyn (Gene) Beckwith, Pamela Earl, three sisters-in-law Lee Meyers, Marilyn (Jerry) Watson, Micki Bisogno, as well as several, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
  In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother-in-law James Earl.
  As were , Tom’s wishes, there are no services.
