Virginia M. (Mastropietro) Brady

Virginia M. ( Mastropietro ) Brady, 90 passed away peacefully Sunday, September 14,2025 just days after the passing of her beloved husband, Raymond of more than 68 years.
 She was a lifelong resident of Auburn, the daughter of the late John and Marie (DiBagio) Mastropietro.

Virginia graduated from West High School, attended Albany State and LeMoyne College.  Virginia loved and taught History for many years at West High School as well as helping her husband at the family owned, Close & Brady’s Restaurant.  She was an excellent cook and loved to make her delicious Italian cookies for everyone.  

Virginia had enjoyed bridge, bingo, poker, golf and many other games. She was lucky, not only in love but in most things she played.  She also enjoyed her games shows particularly 'The Price is Right' and loved to tell her story of when she was a contestant and Grand Prize winner on the show in 1959. Virginia was a woman of strong faith and a member of Sacred Heart Church. 

  She is survived by her daughter Lisa Brady and son Raymond H. Brady III and her brother Michael Mastropietro.
 In addition to her parents and beloved husband Raymond, she was also predeceased by a brother Francis Mastropietro.
  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 23rd at 10:30 am for both Virginia and her husband Raymond , in Sacred Heart Church, Melrose Rd., The family will greet friends prior to the Mass in the church from 10 until 10:30. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
